2018 Summer Series: Registration


Note: We are limiting the registration to 40 riders for the Grinds and 100 riders for the Fondo. We are also going to be holding half the spots for women riders until we are three weeks out from the event. So reg soon!

Whatcom Grind—May 6th

Registration – $25
First in the series is the Whatcom Grind on Sunday, May 6th. This ride will be a grind format with the best descents in Whatcom County. Ride begins with coffee at Bloedel Donovan Park at 8:00am and ends back at the park. Lunch from Cafe Velo will be provided mid-ride. As with all of our rides, space is limited - register now!

Route Description-
The Whatcom Grind will be circumnavigating Lake Whatcom. The high points of the day include climbing Stewart Mountain and a jaunt over Anderson Mountain. The ride is 55 miles and includes 6,600 feet of climbing. We will be riding 30 miles on gravel and 25 miles on pavement.

 

Chuckanut Grind—June 3rd

Registration – $25
Next up is the Chuckanut Grind on Sunday, June 3rd. This will be a grind format featuring some awesome gravel, pavement, and singletrack sections. Ride begins with coffee at Fairhaven Park at 8:00am and ends in the afternoon at Stones Throw Brewing.

Route Description-
Chuckanut Grind is continuing the tradition of Cascade Cross's Spring Smash. We'll be exploring the southern Chuckanuts. The high points of the day include the Samish Overlook on Blanchard Mountain and Alger Alp. The ride will be around 50 miles and include 4,000 feet of climbing. We will traveling over a variety of surfaces, so don't be grumpy when there is mud and slippery roots.

 

Cascade Fondo—July 8th

Registration – $40
Finally the Cascade Fondo rolls out on Sunday, July 8th. We are excited to return to this route with a bigger and better group of riders. This ride will be a fondo format on open bike paths, forest roads, and paved back roads. Ride begins with coffee at Birdsview Brewing Company on Highway 20 at 8:00am and ends back at the brewery for dinner and a beer.

Route Description-
The Birdsview Brewing Company is found on Highway 20 seven miles west of Concrete, WA. The ride will be leaving the brewery along the Cascade Trail and continuing into the foothills south of Concrete. The ride is 68 miles and includes 4,800 feet of climbing. We will be riding 40 miles on gravel and 28 miles on pavement.

Camping!
We are staying on the banks of the Skagit River at Rasar State Park the Saturday night before the ride. The brewery and start of the ride are just around the corner. Drive down the night before and join us for a campfire.
